CALLINGTON – CORNWALL

After our visit to Stonehenge we continued down to Callington, Cornwall. We stayed at my future Brother-In-law Paul's mother and father, Derek and Maggie’s house just outside Callington. Cornwall is amazingly picturesque. All the roads through the country side are lined with hedges either side and the roads are really narrow. Stone cottages, barns and other farm buildings are dotted everywhere throughout the Cornish countryside, as are little pubs and inns that exude charm and character which easily entice you into them for a cider or an ale or two. On our first afternoon at Maggie and Derek’s we went for a drive up to Kit Hill, which was once the site of a huge steam driven pump to pump water out of a nearby mine. Pictured are Clare, Maggie and Derek.
