EDINBURGH – SCOTLAND
Edinburgh was our final point of the UK for our transit to Paris. We booked a flight from Edinburgh to Paris therefore we only spent one day and night in Edinburgh. Nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of the place, once again buildings that were built over 500 years ago and are still being used today. The beauty of the architecture and monuments throughout Edinburgh defies imagination; everything is grandiose and created to inspire awe.
That night Matt and I had dinner in a small restaurant located in a small street just off Royal Parade near Edinburgh; the restaurant was in a stone building, the age I cannot even begin to imagine, most likely 300 years. Whilst having dinner, I experienced a moment that was truly one of those remarkable and memorable moments – the sun was setting and darkness was slowly approaching, opposite were two amazingly beautiful young women, one Scottish the other British, drinking wine and talking, behind them through the 10 to 12 foot high glass windows were the silhouettes of medieval structures, the French wine I was drinking tasted so sweet, and the complete moment was sweeter when Radiohead’s Pyramid Song began playing.
